In June 1997, Teddy Sheringham agreed to join Manchester United in a £3.5million deal. He was signed to replace the iconic Eric Cantona whose retirement had left the Old Trafford faithful demanding a big name to fill the gap.
Teddy played for United for 4 seasons, made 153 appearances and scored 46 goals , his last was may 2001 aged 34. After leaving he went back to Tottenham Hotspur, then Portsmouth, West Ham United, and Colchester United.
Sheringham has appeared as a television football pundit since retirement, but don’t ever get into a card game with Teddy because he is now a very good professional Poker player, who has featured in many worldwide competitions.
Would Teddy Sheringham be in your all time Manchester United 11 ?
